The firs LOAFER ever

The firs LOAFER ever.

The first loafer shoes, also called moccasin, was invented for King George VI of England as a casual shoe
Did you know that the first "loafer shoe" that we commonly call "moccasin" was invented for nothing less than a king?

A London bespoke shoe company founded in 1847 is speculated to have developed the first moccasin as a country shoe for landowners and the royal family.
The "Wildsmith Moccasin" made by Raymond Lewis Wildsmith of Wildsmith Shoes company, was designed for King George VI (the father of the current sovereign Elizabeth II) as a casual shoe.
This model was later nicknamed "the Harrow" when it was marketed and introduced to the market by other London companies.
